Are you aged 16-21? Do you perform Folk, Acoustic or Roots music from any culture? Then BBC Radio 2 are looking for you to enter the Young Folk Award 2015

Ten successful entries will be invited to attend the Young Folk Award Weekend on 23–25 January 2015 in Kendal. You will spend the weekend meeting other performers and attending workshops led by professional musicians and organisers.

Accommodation and food are provided and a contribution will be made towards entrants’ travel costs.
On the Saturday evening there will be a concert open to the public, featuring a short performance from each act, from which a panel of judges will select four acts to become the nominees for the 2015 Young Folk Award. Those nominees will then be invited to the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in April 2015, where the winner will be announced.

Competition closes Friday 28th November – download an application form from the following link
