‘Jesus Hollywood’ is the latest single from the upcoming new album by Canadian artist David Ward.
It marks his first collaboration with the award-winning London-based composer, orchestrator and multi-instrumentalist Phil Meadows.
“This is where it all started. This was the first song I wrote for the album and was the template for the theme of worship explored throughout, I wanted to do something with strings and a friend of mine, the manager of piano trio Phronesis, suggested I collaborate with Phil, who had recently started The Engine’s Orchestra.” says Ward.
The Engine’s Orchestra, dubbed ‘future jazz gods on the rise’ by Time Out, unites London’s most adventurous young classical, jazz, world and folk musicians to work closely with other artists to push the boundaries.
“Phil did an amazing job arranging strings for this song. It helped to seed the orchestral architecture for the rest of the album,” concludes Ward.
