2013 could not pass for me without a post dedicated to Nelson Mandela. The man who fought tirelessly to bring racial equality to many and after much injustice rose to become the first black president of South Africa, he sadly passed away earlier this month.
Thousands of tributes have been written but I had to share with you this song by Luca Dimoon and Daniel Kolle entitled ‘Sumwa Moyo’ (Rebel Against Racism)
Inspired by the words of Martin Luther King Jr, the joyous tribute is more of a celebration of Mandela’s life and what he stood for, rather than a mournful piece on his passing. Sang in Douala by Daniel and English by Luca – enjoy!
…We hope that the dark clouds of racial prejudice will soon pass away, and the hope that tomorrow the stars of brotherhood will be shining over all of us…
