Festival No.6 reveals more acts and its biggest Arts and Culture programme yet!

Noel Gallagher, Irvine Welsh, Shaun Ryder, Simon Armitage, Cassius, Bastille and many more are all set to join the line-up.

Celebrating its fifth year, the multi-award winning Festival No.6 in Portmeirion, Wales announced a host of new Acts and DJs, Comedy and its biggest Arts and Culture programme yet, which includes Noel Gallagher, Irvine Welsh, Shaun Ryder, Simon Armitage, Cassius, Bastille and many more.

Constructed between 1925 and 1975 by maverick architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, Portmeirion is a wonderfully bizarre and elaborate interpretation of a Mediterranean village, nestled in the stunning mountains and forests of North Wales overlooking the expansive waters of the Irish Sea. During the festival the village and the surrounding woods come alive with a unique series of inspiring venues – the Central Piazza, Estuary Stage, the Late Night Pavilion, Castell Gardens, there’s even a floating dance floor! All hosting everything from main stage moments to intimate performances from iconic bands and world class DJ’s.

With Noel Gallagher headlining No.6, there will be an exclusive preview of the new Oasis film, followed by a Q&A session with director Mat Whitecross.

Returning on the 20th anniversary of the book and film, Trainspotting, Irvine Welsh talks about the follow-up film being filmed by Danny Boyle.

Shaun Ryder, leader of Happy Mondays and Black Grape, will make a rare speaking appearance, talking for the first time about his unique approach to writing lyrics.

2016 marks 40 years since Dr. Who was filmed at Portmeirion and 50 years since filming of The Prisoner commenced. Dj Yoda will celebrate both anniversaries with a special themed ‘Dj Yoda does Sci-Fi Portmeirion’ audio-visual spectacular.

The multi-award winning poet and author Simon Armitage CBE will make his debut appearance, joining a strong literature and spoken word line-up including, Booker Prize-winner DBC Pierre, BBC 6 Music Poet in Residence Murray Lachlan Young, Hollie McNish, World Beatbox Champion Bella Trix, Amy Liptrot, Miranda Sawyer, Luke Wright and Tim Burgess.

The band line-up is something else, with a host of acts from every genre out to please the masses. Catch Echo & The Bunnymen, Cassius, Craig Charles, Hot Chip and Bastille.
