Review: Redman and Methodman at the O2 Kentish Town

June 2015, Shaolin philosophers of the Hiphop world, the Wu Tang Clan played a spectacular show at the Brixton Academy, there was only one problem Methodman had to fly back to the States for filming commitments much to the disappointment of fans.

Fast forward to April 2016, Redman and Methodman – the dynamic duo of the clan played to a sold out crowd at the O2 Kentish Town!

With classic 2 step moves here, a slide and shuffle there – Red and Meth gave the supporting crowd exactly what they wanted.

“You want to get high?” they taunted…“how high?” before exploding into their highly infectious track. The crowd were bouncing, fist pumping and applauding the raucous veracity before them.

Props have to be given to DJs Dice and Mathematics as they showed off their dexterity and flair on the decks before them, treating the apparatus like they were stroking two energetic puppies!

Tributes on the night went out to all the untimely fallen souls of 2016, David Bowie “…I loved that MF!” exclaimed Methodman before requesting a honourable moment’s silence for Prince who sadly passed away yesterday. As the tributes continued they couldn’t let the time pass without a tribute to their own fallen soldier ODB – blazing his honour with ‘Shimmy Shimmy Ya’.

Churning out classics from Blackout 1, 2 and 36 Chambers, Streetlife even joined them on stage to perform Wu hits.

Fans will be pleased to know that ‘How High 2’ is in production and ‘Blackout 3’ is currently in the studio!
