Today, Jessica Biggs aka Musicvein was featured on BBC Radio Leicester!
Following my call to the Radio Station to retell a funny story regarding my Grandfather – who was unfortunately called Ronnie Biggs and nearly arrested on several occasions – I was invited by presenter Jo Hayward to choose songs for a lively Monday Morning segment called Kickstarter Monday.
The idea was that I should choose songs that would motivate people on a Monday – now being a music journalist this was a mammoth task! I can’t tell you how many times I re-wrote my list!
I wanted something for everyone, I wanted to express elements of my personality, I wanted songs that I really really loved, but would people know the songs that I loved? were they too energetic for a local BBC station?…that was just a small selection of thoughts whizzing through my mind!
In the end I chose my 4 with a back up in case any were not available and talked through them over coffee with the delightful Jo, who made me feel so at ease.
If you didn’t manage to catch the show live and would like to hear my selections, you can listen back to the show here at BBC Radio Leicester
If you would like to take part you can contact Radio Leicester on 0116 251 1049 or text 81333 with your selection.
