If you’ve been watching the Hulu Horror series ‘Light As a Feather’, featuring Home and Away star Jordan Rodrigues and produced by Emmy Award winner Kelsey Grammer, you’ll recognize the track ‘Black Lake’ by UK group Fabrik which features in the opening scenes.
Taken from their debut album ‘City Islands’, the single ‘Black Lake’ is as dark and haunting as its title suggests. With down tempo drum n bass beats running its course through looping guitar rifts and cirrus vocals – fans of trip-hop, cinematic releases and artists like Morcheeba, Portishead, PJ Harvey, will deeply appreciate this track.
Talking of the single’s inception, lead singer Hayley Trower says “I wrote the lyrics to ‘Black Lake’ in the midst of daily drinking in Thailand, surrounded by overwhelming beauty. Sat in a hut, looking out at dense jungle and fierce sea, I was in awe at how tiny my life was in comparison to the infinite life cycles and continuous regeneration around me.”
