National treasure Sir David Attenborough made his Glastonbury debut this weekend with a Live presentation of Seven Worlds One Planet.
Walking on to the Greenpeace stage to huge admiration, David seemed lost for words as he thanked the crowd for his welcome. Ever the professional Sir David went on to commend the Glastonbury Festival for going plastic free.
“This great festival has gone plastic free…” he announced to a silent and respectful crowd “That is more than a million bottles of water has not been drunk by you in plastic, thank you.”
He went on to recount the success of the Blue Planet 2 series, in particular the episode showing the devastating effects of plastic in our oceans, and to announce new series ‘Seven Worlds One Planet’ which will be out later this year.
The presentation was live-streamed by BBC Earth and has since been viewed over 66K times, equally the series trailer featuring music by Sia and Hans Zimmer has been viewed over 77K times.
