Now in its 26th year, The London Jazz Festival will run from Friday 15th to Sunday 24th November.
The festival brings the likes of Corinne Bailey Rae, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Judi Jackson and Cherise Adams-Burnett together for an evening at the Royal Festival Hall, backed by Guy Barker’s 42 piece orchestra.
Bossa royalty and Jazz legends, Joao Donato and Herbie Hancock will perform, along with Chrissie Hynde and Iggy Pop who will both be showcasing new material from their recent, jazz-infused album releases.
The 2019 London Jazz Festival will host dozens of free events, which will take over various venues and spaces at Royal Docks in Newham. JazzWorks is just one of these, a dedicated day of discussion and debate focusing on some of the most important current topics facing Jazz and the wider music industry.
One of the pillars of the EFG London Jazz Festival’s ethos is a commitment to supporting women in the industry, the She Is Jazz free workshop – a mass participation project hosted by SEED Ensemble’s Cassie Kinoshi is one not to be missed. See the Festival Programme for more information.
