JW MARRIOTT GROSVENOR HOUSE, LONDON’S EMINENT BOOK CLUB EVENT, LITERATI, WILL HOST DECCA RECORDS IN JOINT 90TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
With Grosvenor House and Decca Records both established in 1929, Park Lane’s most iconic hotel and the legendary British record label are both celebrating their 90th anniversaries with a year-long programme of events.
Literati is an intimate event where guests have the opportunity to closely meet and interact with authors in an elegant setting. Since Literati launched in January 2010, the line-up has included Jo Malone, the last public appearance of the late Jackie Collins, Peter Snow, Countess Carnarvon of the ‘Real’ Downton Abbey from Highclere Castle and Dame Kelly Holmes. Now Decca Records home to some of the world’s greatest ever recording artists and will be presenting its spectacular anniversary book, Decca 90.
A vibrant panel from the music industry will tell fascinating stories from the book in the closing event of a series of Decca 90 anniversary events. On the panel will be Tom Lewis, Vice President of Decca and Daryl Easlea, Curator of Decca 90 and co-editor of The Supreme Record Company. Joining them will be Decca Classics’ star saxophonist, Jess Gillam.
Daryl Easlea, Curator of Decca 90 says, “Decca 90 celebrates the illustrious past and exciting present of Decca Records. We are as relevant today as we have ever been and the book is full of anecdotes and insights into our wider contribution to culture. Decca 90 features rare photography and never-seen-before archival material and is for anyone who is fascinated by the development of modern music. The synergies between Grosvenor House and Decca Records makes this, the final event in 12 months of anniversary celebrations, a really exciting one. Grosvenor House has its own fascinating 90-year history with music and has hosted many legends in its famous Great Room. We are looking forward to exploring this with guests at Literati.”
Literati with Decca Records takes place on Thursday, February 27th at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London with a champagne and canape reception at 6:30pm followed by panel discussion and interactive Q&A from 7:00pm.
Literati is an intimate event and seats are limited. Two ticket options are available; £20 per person event-only, or £50 per person will include a hardback copy of Decca 90, signed by the panel.
