Journey of a Woman by Rajdulari

Rajdulari - Journey of a Woman coverThe first Musicvein album review of 2014 is by the beautiful and staunch Rajdulari.

Since her debut ‘HoneywineRajdulari has been relentless in making the 2014 follow-up ‘Journey of a Woman‘ and what an album she’s crafted. Where ‘Honeywine‘ left off musically, ‘Journey of a Woman‘ seamlessly picks up but you won’t find the same old tired out songs – no here you have a more autobiographical offering.

Journey of a Woman‘ features songs of romance and encouragement as Rajdulari pours her heart out to listeners – the key messages being learning to love yourself and more importantly the body you’re in, Self-respect and waiting for that special someone to come by ‘I been single for so long…I sat and prayed to god for you…but then you came better than I ever imagined…‘ she sings in ‘Open Air‘. But it’s the invigorating opening lines of ‘Peace‘ that I love and will adopt as a daily mantra “Take a moment just to realize you have the power to control everything around you and that peace begins from within…”

The album features 8 brand new tracks with a further 2 cleverly chosen covers. The first being ‘Juicy‘ originally by Mtume (James Mtume from the band is a Grammy Award winning artist) and the second being ‘What’s Love Got To Do‘ by Tina Turner – a song which was inducted into the 2012 Grammy Hall of Fame!

Rajdulari has made no secret in what she is aiming for and Musicvein wishes her all the best in her quest for a Grammy – I’m on that journey with you girl!
