A Spectacular Night in Rutland With The Thomas Brown Affair

It was a great honour for Musicvein Entertainment to have The Thomas Brown Affair play live in Rutland.

A packed room and eager crowd of diners couldn’t wait for the duo to start but first they were entertained by Leicester band Something For The Weekend who began with an acoustic set of covers. Dee’s voice adding sugar and spice to the dishes being served around her.

The main act The Thomas Brown Affair were met with such applause – it was clear to all they were in the presence of something special and magical.

Kenny Thomas started off with Kelly Gordon’s beautiful hit ‘He Aint Heavy’ before moving on to Marvin Gaye’s ‘How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You’. As you looked around the room you could see that everyone enjoyed hearing these well loved hits being sang perfectly alongside Wayne Brown on keys.

At times, there were a few noisy revelers who were out celebrating a birthday – this unfortunately spoiled moments for other music lovers who were there to soak up the beautiful atmosphere created by the TBA – however as true professionals they carried on through hushing the crowd by singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to a few (that included moi) before once more continuing with songs by Bill WithersBobby Cauldwell, Ray Charles and Elton John among others before receiving a standing ovation for the night.
